Each portrait is approx. 20" x 30" using a 3B pencil. The portraits are actually a lot brighter than they appear in these photos... I need a new digital camera!
I admire your sense of control and your ability to capture the personalities in these two pieces. Makes me wish I were more patient in my work. The density of the facial hair, as it is tuck beneath the chin, is handled amazingly!
Nice, Michael. Try adjusting the levels in Photoshop or iPhoto. The trick is to be careful not to lose all the fine detail in the process.
